Hand Manipulation for Back Pain

The most common therapeutic procedure performed by Dr. Peter Lazarnick (Dr. Pete) is known as “spinal manipulation,” also called a “chiropractic adjustment. The object of this treatment is to reduce the subluxation, with the goals of increasing range of motion, reducing nerve irritably and improving function. Adjustments are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level.

Through spinal manipulation, also called manual therapy, Dr. Lazarnick will use his hands to apply a controlled, sudden force to a specific joint. Patients may hear a popping noise, such as when you crack your knuckles, but the end result will leave you pain-free. In addition to spinal manipulation, Dr. Lazarnick uses a unique approach to soft tissue manual therapy that most chiropractors are not trained in. Dr. Lazarnick may also suggest heat therapy, cryotherapy, electrical stimulation, or traction table therapy.
